The Future Is NOW
Space X is doing remarkable things. They want humans to go to Mars in 35 years, and they will do it. You know how I know? They are relentless in pursuit of their goal, and they won’t take no for an answer. Let me explain.
A few weeks ago they had a remarkable failure with one of their rockets exploding, millions of dollars out the window. People were quick to judge that Space X will never go to Mars it was a catastrophic failure, but Elon Musk is more determined than ever to make it to Mars. For most people that have a massive failure like that they will stop dead in their tracks and return to their comfortable being, but for people like Elon Musk, it will motivate them more. Some of it has to do with mindset, but most of it has to do with proper GOAL setting.
The reason why most people fail when it comes to losing weight or wanting to be more financially successful is that the goals that they have chosen are too vague.
If someone said they wanted to lose weight, I would ask how much they want to lose and by when? These two questions will make the goal more specific and measurable.
A goal has to be challenging as well. If you are a marathon runner who has a personal best of three hours and you want to shave off 10 minutes of your time in the next 12 years, well that goal is both specific and measurable, but it’s very easy and not very challenging at all. Easy goals are not the path to high levels of achievement and fulfillment.
Space X going to Mars that will be a remarkable achievement and something that everyone will remember for the rest of their lives!
For a goal to come to fruition you need a plan. Space X has all the details for them going to Mars down to how fast the speed of the shuttle is going to travel through Space. That’s some serious planning!
If you want to lose 20lbs you need a plan for that as well. That plan will be nutrition and exercise.
A goal should also be flexible. For example, let’s say you weigh and measure yourself once per week and you notice you are not losing weight.( 1 to 2 lbs per week is optimal) Your weight is staying the same, what do you do? You should re-evaluate your nutrition first (tip-eat 250cal less per day) and then go on your way.
Space X when their rocket exploded a few weeks ago, it not only made them work harder than before, but it made them re-evaluate their goal.
Not everyone doesn’t have to be like someone like Elon Musk and all the rocket scientists working for Space X but people can learn how to design a goal made for them and follow it until it’s completion.
